Cooperative planning of an urban court yard in Potsdam

Project with the purpose of redesigning a 5000 qm court yard with mobilization and participation of 450 residents in a panel flat quarter in Potsdam Drewitz, Germany.

 

Objectives of the project

  • high quality concept for the design and mangement of the court which is held and conducted by four different residential building cooperatives
  • creating a more nice and caring place for a family-friendly atmosphere
  • more green, more plants growing in surround and on the faces of the buildings
  • stabilisating cooperation and contentment within the neighbourship
  • clear patterns of utilisation to avoid conflicts
  • enhancing social control
  • making the court “private”
  • no more cars in the court
