Cooperative planning of an urban court yard in Potsdam
Project with the purpose of redesigning a 5000 qm court yard with mobilization and participation of 450 residents in a panel flat quarter in Potsdam Drewitz, Germany.
Objectives of the project
- high quality concept for the design and mangement of the court which is held and conducted by four different residential building cooperatives
- creating a more nice and caring place for a family-friendly atmosphere
- more green, more plants growing in surround and on the faces of the buildings
- stabilisating cooperation and contentment within the neighbourship
- clear patterns of utilisation to avoid conflicts
- enhancing social control
- making the court “private”
- no more cars in the court
