Regeneration of North Littlehampton
In July 2008 around 120 people participated in the North Littlehampton Community Planning Weekend to create a new Vision for North Littlehampton. The new vision includes the mixed use redevelopment of land to the north of the railway, new housing and employment, new community and leisure facilities and the proposed new Academy. The Weekend was organised by Greencore Group, leaders of a consortium of landowners to the north of the railway, and facilitated by Littlehampton Town Council.
One of the key outcomes of the Weekend was for the local community to continue to participate in developing the Vision into firm proposals that are sensible, well designed and bring benefits to the existing community. To ensure this participation can continue the North Littlehampton Community Forum has been set up and the first meeting was held on 17 September at All Saints Church, Wick. Over 100 people attended this Forum at which presentations were given and issues discussed.
In order to communicate with the wider community it was agreed the a newsletter would be established to provide information on the developing proposals and give an opportunity for local people to write contributions and debate the issues.
