Upplands Väsby is a growing town with a population of 40.000. It is strategically located between Stockholm and Arlanda Airport. A new sustainable neighbourhood called Väsby Sjöstad is proposed to commodate part of the expanding population within the Stockholm region. The municipality`s ambition is to build it as a model for sustainable development in this area of high ecological value. In line with their policy of involving citizens in the decision making process they commissioned an international Community Planning practice. John Thompson & Partners are facilitating a process known as a Charrette.
