VISION FOR HORNSBRUKSGATAN (S) 2010

Along one of Stockholm’s innercity streets “Hornsbruksgatan” are a number of projects planned by the City of Stockholm and their local development partners Veideikke Bostad and Wasted Space. The aim is to improve connections between the street and the park, sensitively integrate new homes and make the whole area safer, greener and more attractive. Wasted Space want to transform the unloved and long empty Hornsbruksgaten tube station building into a vibrant centre for the Hornstull community’s cultural life. A small hotel and rooftop restaurant are also being considered.

The partners want to develop ideas for how to make Hornstull a better place to live, work and play using for the first time in Sweden the open and inclusive Community Planning Process, which is a way of involving people creatively in helping to shape the future of their cities, towns and neighborhoods. John Thompson & Partners, architects, urbanists and community planners have been engaged together with Andreas von Zadow to facilitate the process.
