Pondicherry Vision Process (India)

Only cooperative methods can lead to a long-term delopment concept for the puzzle of administration units at Pondicherry region.
The public and co-operative “Pondy Vision Process” is designed to achieve an integrated, comprehensive 25 year Vision for the Pondicherry City Region leading to the production of a Comprehensive Development Action Plan for the Area. The process will bring together a wide range of community and stakeholder interests to consider aspirations and initiatives for the future development of the city and region.

Pondicherry is subject to many forces seeking to bring about industrial and residential development without due regards to infrastructure requirements and current plans or political intentions. On the contrary this uncontrolled growth creates traffic and environmental problems, threatens natural resources and bit by bit takes up agricultural land.
Previous strategic plans have been seen as ineffective. Our “Pondy Vision Process” therefore builds particularly on team work, participation and publicity in order to achieve real change in time.
