Stuttgart – 5. World Congress “Cities for Mobility” (DE) 2011

This year the 5th anniversary of Cities for Mobility will be hold in Stuttgart on July 3 – 5, 2011 in Stuttgart City Hall. Again more than 300 participants from all over the world are expected.

Participants will benefit from an exciting conference programm, poster exhibitions and special tours and visits in Stuttgart. In 2011 there will also be celebrated in Stuttgart the 125th anniversary of the invention of the automobile by Gottlieb Daimler. This is the reason why there has been chosen as main topic of this congress “The Future of Urban Mobility”. There will be discussions about this issue from three points of view: the socio-political perspective, the dimension of urban planning as well as the technological outlook. A draft program will be available beginning of 2011 at the homepage of this conference (www.cities-for-mobility.net). For any further questions please contact:

The 4th World Congress of the global network ´Cities for mobility` took place on 4-6 July 2010 in the city of Stuttgart. Again in 2010 the facilitator of the world congress was Andreas von Zadow. The event focused on economy promoting mobility in cities addressing municipal decision makers, transport practitioners, researchers and civil society. The World Congress is an ideal event, which offers plenty of space for networking and exchange of experiences as well as excellent facilities for in-depth presentations and discussions.

Already the 3rd World Congress of Cities for Mobility had been chaired by Andreas von Zadow.

“Dear Mr. von Zadow, I am extremely thankful for your excellent facilitation of the world congress CITIES FOR MOBILITY 2009. This event which brought together 350 participants from 35 countries including politicians, economists, experts and civil society was a complete success. Your professional and quick-witted facilitation contributed essentially to structure and focus the congress. This sets another stepping stone for the further development of this annual event.”
Dr. Wolfgang Schuster (Lord Mayor of STUTTGART)

Many cooperations and contacts resulted between participants. Related to the conference different project meetings took place between delegations for example from China, Brasil, the Netherlands, Turkey, and Kamerun, this contacts are going to be continued.

During the conference the city Stuttgart intensified its contacts to the metropolises Nangjing (China) and Almaty (Kasachstan). With both towns Stuttgart signed kooperation agreements to extend collaborations in topics as mobility, culture, education and tourism.
